Pleut sur le jardin

Pleut sur le jardin marks the first stage of a new phase in the development of the work initiated in 2025 under the title OPUS III. This new experiment unfolds as a solo performance around both poetic and choreographic material that is slowly transforming into a duet involving Golestân Outil-Rouhi, and her mother Katayoun Rouhi.

Within the poetic imaginary of the garden, to invoke an “else”where : a placeless place that makes possible the discontinuities lived by the children of migrations. This garden, a space for a quiet union, is also a place for collective listening to the silences that inhabit diasporic bodies - beyond what can be seen and beyond what can be heard, a place where our “other” realities are getting written.

Like a space for those without a space, Pleut sur le jardin is also conceived as a kind of prayer. In this place, where the eternal bodies of poets and dervishes rest, gathering together in the garden becomes a gesture that allows us to realign ourselves, through a one and single breath, to the loud breathing of cultures and bodies that resist their own disappearance.
