Loucka Fiagan
Bio
Loucka Fiagan is a Brussels-based artist, born in Belgium and raised in Togo. After studying Sociology and Anthropology, he earned a master’s degree in performance and choreography from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He has been active in the Belgian arts scene for over a decade as a performer, maker, musician, and researcher.
He began his artistic journey at 19 with Chapter One, a multidisciplinary collective where he developed collaborative, organisational, and artistic skills. Later, he co-founded WDKY (wedontknowyet) with Oscar Cassamajor. Their debut performance premiered at the Work In Progress festival (2017), followed by Bluland, which toured extensively with support from Mestizo Arts Platform, City Lab, and Bâtard Festival. In 2021, they created The Lab, an experimental VR film for Bâtard.
Loucka was a key collaborator in Moya Michael’s Coloured Swans series, contributing to Harriet’s ReMix and Outwalkers (2022). He also explored sound design, composing for Castélie Yalombo and Eli Mathieu-Bustos, and is currently involved in Lukah Katangila’s Imprisoned Gods (2025). He is a member of JAN vzw, with whom he helped organise the Graves festival in 2019.
As a musician and writer under the alias SVDU, he has performed at Beursschouwburg (opening for Moor Mother), KIOSK Radio, and KONVOOI. Together with JASMIN, he formed We In The Zoo, an alternative hip-hop band with shows at Volta (2024) and Botanique (2025). His two-year residency at Beursschouwburg (2022–2024) was pivotal in developing his practice.
His work blends music, poetry, and performance, with a strong focus on sound. Over nearly a decade, he has developed long-form sound pieces combining acousmatic composition, sound collage, and performance. During his studies at ISAC, he deepened his research into sound as a spatial and choreographic experience—shifting from sound as a layer to using it as the foundation for the performance itself.
