Bio

Mariana Senne, born in São Paulo and currently based in Berlin, is a theatre maker and performer whose practice explores intercultural performance and new forms of staging, with a strong focus on feminist themes. She collaborates frequently with collectives and directors from the independent scene, including Claudia Bosse/Theater Combinat, Andcompany&Co, Swoosh Lieu, Luise Meier/Christian Filips, SchmiM/Adamczak, Joachim Robbrecht & De Warme Winkel Groupe, Jan Brokof, Friendly Fire, and Karin Beier. She graduated from the Master’s programme at DAS Theatre Amsterdam, where she developed her most recent project I love you but I need to kill you now (2021). With support from the Recherche Stipendium of Fonds Darstellende Künste, she further developed her punk and carnival-inspired aesthetics. Her work often draws connections between personal experiences and broader socio-political structures, using the body as a primary motor.
