Bio

Mira Bryssinck graduated from KASK in Ghent in 2016. As a theatre-maker and actress, she creates performances that question or chart a social problem. She created a first theatre performance Utopia, with people with double-diagnosis problems connected to the Villa Voortman meeting centre. This performance played at Theater Aan Zee and at Frascati in Amsterdam, among others. She then made Letter, a performance for HETGEVOLG in Turnhout. In 2019, she made the solo performance Glory Box at Compagnie Cecilia.

Mira starred in the much-discussed television series Tytgat Chocolat, which won the Prix Europa and the Diversity Award in Cannes. She was recently a first laureate for the Karen Vernimmen Prize (2019) and the Vocatio Scholarship (2020). Mira was part of the development project The Montignards at Monty (2021) and acted in performances by Tine Van Aerschot and De Roovers. In 2022, she wrote the State of the Youth at the Theaterfestival.
