Diafragma

Drawing on mysticism, minimal and durational music, and practices of active passivity (Éliane Radigue, Pauline Oliveros, Maria Zambrano, Fanny Howe, Simone Weil, zazen’), Diafragma will explore stillness as pleasure and ecstasy as suspension. Voice and body emerge frictional, suspended, or reversed—moving backwards, the voice inhaled rather than exhaled—creating a sonic field where the distinction between sound and silence thins.

During the residency Catalina Insignares Martinez and partners will continue to expand on the choreographic and vocalisation practices coming from her previous research (hollow, 2025), from somatic practices such as Contiuum Movement and from the collaboration with voice composer Yannick Guédon, the filmmaker Ester M. Bergsmark and the performer and musician Luce Fiagan.
