f00l

f00l is a technofeminist performance that decodes Leoncavallo’s opera Pagliacci to ask: how do we glitch the identities written onto us? In it, four characters/avatars weave cybernetics, posthumanism and the figure of the jester into a living system of feedback, control and error. Through reworking the opera as an analogy of the dichotomy of fiction-reality, f00l envisions how identities are entangled inside a techno-feudal system that hardly distinguishes between digital and physical realities.

During the residency at workspacebrussels, the team is building movement scores from computational blackboxes, synthetic doubles, body-tracking, robotic objects and the conception of the Holo-Decor, a mutable, metatheatrical space where physical and digital bodies collide. This residency would serve as a laboratory to explore first raw choreographic drafts, code-scores, 3D avatars and uncanny interactions between flesh, machine and the actual transposition of the archive of the opera. Through a dissident, anti-cis-heteronormative lens, f00l reimagines the stage as a cybernetic theatre where identity can be recomposed, mocked and reprogrammed.
