Galactic Crush 2 - into the cold

In their previous work Galactic Crush, Stephanie Kayal and Abed Kobeissy sought solace through fiction. In a parallel universe, a mysterious explosion devastates a city ruled by evil. Having recently gained superpowers due to chemical exposure from the blast, a dancer anti-hero teams up with her sidekick musician. In retaliation to years of injustice, they form a cheaply equipped, loosely organized crime-fighting power-couple to exact vengeance.

During the residency at workspacebrussels, the duo will start working on a sequel creation in which the events happen in a near future. The region’s increasing mass exodus and waves of land and sea migration continue to grow facing the worst economic meltdown in history, millions have been leaving their homes for years, fleeing anywhere, by any means, at any cost. The performance is an admittance of a coming fate; in these lands, we’re an endangered species. With most of the planet falling apart as well, once again, a dancer and a musician decide to make use of scientific advancement, and build a DIY spaceship capable of intergalactic travel. The performance dives into a stretched moment, in which the protagonists remember their past, see their whole life and imagine their future right before the ‘event’, which in this case would be ‘leaving the solar system’.
