Research on Chaabi music and dance
In his research, Bilal El-Had delves into the initial form of music and dance he encountered at a very young age: the Chaabi. The term “Chaabi” (يبعش) translates to “of the people” in Arabic. Originating in urban areas, this dance and music genre is closely tied to various popular Moroccan musical styles, frequently showcased at weddings and neighbourhood celebrations.
