Research residency

Guest residency in the frame of Bâtard

During this residency, Christian Yav will explore an interdisciplinary fusion of movement, song and sound. The first part of this research was held at the beginning of the year at Theater Rotterdam. The second part of the research will be done at the Kaaistudios.

'In my work I start from the need to delve into other dimensions, domains where my experience and existence is the starting point. A choice in how I want to portray myself in space to stand in my own strength. At the same time, I strive to participate in storytelling in an authentic way.

This approach leads me to create work that I would have wanted to see when I was younger while simultaneously changing the narratives often associated with my existence.’
