Secretly Troubled
Secretly Troubled is a dance with a never-ending narrative, one that strains and breaks in places only to resume later. How do we heal our shames or how do we fix them? If we had to find a place to hide and get rid of them, where would it be?
Inspired by an excerpt from Nijinsky's notebooks or by the voice of the choreographer Daniel Nagrin as well as by Françoise Sullivan's 1948 photographs published in the magazine "Refus Global", SECRETLY TROUBLED would be a piece where the dance oscillates between the most naive pleasure and the whispering of the most troubled secrets.
The fragments gathered in a body of the young man caught in the snow, the young girl wrapped up and the man with gloves advance like a tightrope walker on a line of an uncertain horizon where one thing is sure: here, something makes us feel exposed.
