Bettina Blanc Penther

Bio

Born in Cannes in 1991, Bettina Blanc Penther lives and works in Paris.

After graduating from the Sorbonne in Applied Modern Literature, she graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. After graduating from the Fresnoy-Studio National des Arts Contemporains, she directed two short films: Too much Tenderness and I am a Believer, which were shown in festivals and exhibitions such as the Biennial of Art Press and the Xposed Festival in Berlin.

Attracted as much by dance as by writing, Bettina constructs her works by writing short stories and poems, which she substitutes little by little by images. She then joined the "Displays" research group at EnsadLab-PSL as a student researcher, where she began to reflect on the agentivity of works and the exhibition as a "state". At the same time she collaborates and dances with the choreographer Marcela Santander Corvàlan on her pieces Quietos and Boccas de Oro.
