Studies on actual size

Within Composities in het wilde weg, movement material was approached that signified a beginning of something, it created an expectation but it was then deliberately not developed any further. It distinguished itself from the other movements by its dance-like character. I would like to give a new twist to that material, but not in search of the extraordinary. By making simple actions resonate with it, I hope to activate a wakefulness within the perception, like when you touch and manipulate an unknown object to find out what it is and what it might be used for, or like a word you pronounce slower or faster, repeat, whisper, shout and sing to grasp a singularity that might be hidden in the sound. By lifting things out of their context, by isolating them or confronting them with new elements, we can often observe them more sharply. For me, a dance is a new context in which a movement can be placed.
