Ch’ttahh
In Ch’ttahh, Bilal El Had turns to the first movement form he’s ever known: Moroccan chaabi, the popular dance and music played at weddings, street celebrations, and living room parties. Between tribute and innovation, humor and grievance, Ch’ttahh channels the explosivity of the present while allowing us to gaze lovingly to a collective past. A choreography where personal memory and century-old histories of masculinity and gender expression meet.
