Plat(e)form(e): Birds Cries Pitch
Plat(e)form(e) is a yearly visitors programme aimed at international professionals. It takes place during Kunstenfestivaldesarts and is organized by Flanders Arts Institute and Wallonie-Bruxelles Théâtre Danse.
The programme supports Belgian artists and companies in their search for (inter)national partnerships, co-production opportunities and professional networking, while offering international guests insight into the diversity of the Belgian performing arts field.
From 26 to 28 May 2026, Plat(e)form(e) creates a temporary space for encounter and exchange between invited international professionals and artists from Belgium.
Amina Abouelghar will pitch her project Birds Cries on the 27th of May in Beursschouwburg.
Birds Cries is a dance piece that is dedicated to improvisation,
rhythm patterns and musical ecstasy that is found in dance. It is about
exploring the sisterly relationship between dance and music while
breaking away from stereotypical associations. The performance is a
constant exploration of melodies, and small musical intervals identified
as maqam.
