Dancing at the crossroads as we walk

De afgelopen drie jaar kwamen Fabián Barba, Cecilia Lisa Eliceche, Moya Michael, Sujata Goel, Jolie Reymond Ngemi en Carlos Maria Romero aka Atabey Mamasita regelmatig samen om te schrijven, werken en praten onder de groepsnaam Dancing at the Crossroads (As We Walk).

Alle zes zijn ze dansprofessionals met een migratieachtergrond die op een bepaald moment in Vlaanderen hebben gestudeerd of gewoond, of die daar nog steeds verblijven. Met hun gezamenlijk werk willen ze kolonialisme en racisme in de internationale dansnetwerken van West-Europa onthullen en aankaarten. De afgelopen twee jaar werden ze ondersteund door workspacebrussels als huiskunstenaars.

Na een periode van traag en geduldig werk delen ze hun proces met een publiek tijdens Open Studios 2023. Het programma van vijf dagen bestaat uit lezingen, performances en gesprekken.
