Collectief Elan(d)
Bio
Collectief Elan(d) is a Ghent-based performer collective. Within this collective, a group of creators/performers with a background in choreography, directing and creative therapy are united. They create playful performances in which the audience takes center stage. Connection is the common thread in their work, as they consciously break the passive role of the audience and experiment with alternative audience setups.
They first joined forces in 2015 for the creation of The Girl With Too Many Bags, which later evolved into In Between Spaces, a performance that premiered at TAZ#2017 and toured across Flanders and the Netherlands. This was followed by the performance Loving is Allowed (produced by Viernulvier and LOD Muziektheater), a dance theater celebration that explores the social dynamics and mutual relationships of the participating audience. The third production, I Think We Need to Talk, began as a research project in public spaces, in collaboration with Manoeuvre. The social woolen sculpture installation transformed into a playful family performance.
Since 2023, Collectief Elan(d) has become a platform for both collective and personal projects.
