Júlia Rúbies Subirós

Júlia Rúbies Subirós (1996) is a performing artist and maker from Maresme, based in Brussels and working between Belgium and Barcelona. A graduate of P.A.R.T.S., she has developed a long-term collaboration with Mette Ingvartsen and has worked with artists including Michiel Vandevelde, Marco D’Agostin, Georgia Vardarou, and Alix Eynaudi.

Her artistic practice moves between dance, voice, performance and research, with a particular interest in how bodies and voices are shaped by cultural narratives, histories and their environments. Her current work focuses on feminised vocality, exploring voice as an embodied practice and as a site where cultural and personal histories intersect.

Alongside her own work, Júlia develops collaborative and pedagogical practices. She co-founded Accompany Class, a peer-led training initiative for the Brussels dance community, and co-organises MOTA 000, a nomadic platform for artistic exchange. In Barcelona, she founded Cascades, an intergenerational project bringing together experimental performing arts practices. She has taught at P.A.R.T.S., facilitated workshops in different contexts and served as a jury member at several organisations.
