Lotta Beckers

Lotta Paula Mathilda Beckers (she/they) studied Applied Theatre Studies in Giessen, Choreography and Dance in Copenhagen, and European Media Studies in Potsdam. As a dramaturge and co-author, they have collaborated with Noam Brusilovsky and Magdalena Emmerig for many years. Their play Nicht Sehen was awarded the Nestroy Special Prize in 2022. Lotta also regularly works as a dramaturge and performer with choreographer Deva Schubert. The piece Glitch Choir was invited to Tanztage Berlin and ImpulsTanz Festival Vienna in 2024, where it received the Young Choreographer's Award. Lotta’s own artistic research explores the entanglements of desire and power. They are interested in the oscillation between the documentary and the poetic, and the historical within the personal. In their practice, Lotta moves fluidly between the fields of theatre, performance, dance, and media art.
