Yasmine Deroui

Yasmine Deroui is an Italian-Moroccan theatre maker and dramaturg based in Brussels. She obtained a Master in Theatre Studies at Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris) and spent long periods working as a dance dramaturg in Leipzig for the dance and performance collective j.a.s. with whom she researches how to make decolonizing practices and the complexity of diasporic realities more visible in dance.

Since 2021 she is completing an artistic program at the Toneelacademie Maastricht and developing her own research. Topics that traverse Yasmine’s performance and dramaturgical practice are auto-theory, ethical documentary making, vulnerability and intimacy on stage.
