Durch den Monsun is a long-term meta-performative project in which Zoé Hagen invites you to meet their alter ego, KOMBITCHA—a (hyper)pop star who hasn’t written any hit (yet). Blending a trembling concert and overly intimate yapping, Zoé aims to share their story of survival, transformation and hope.

For this third metamorphosis of the project, Zoé seeks to fully merge with Kombitcha, inviting you to a performative concert that traces the encounter of these two entities on their bumpy path to fame. As you can imagine, the ride isn’t smooth. Overnight success is a myth. Especially when you're stuck in bed with chronic pain, or when you hate yourself because of your stupid mental health, or when you have no choice but to acknowledge that humanity is fueling its own downfall. However, even if they are not successful in the most conventional sense, these stories are worth telling. And perhaps, over time, success itself can take on new meanings and become even more tangible than we ever imagined.

Navigating between therapeutic and artistic processes, intimacy and politics, reality and fiction, lies and sincerity—& so much more—Zoé recounts a complex and sensitive journey toward self-understanding and the reclamation of identity. More than just a personal story, their performative proposal resonates within an entire generation that has grown up in a society where the future feels unstable and in which hope is increasingly rare.
