Funnel of Love

Funnel of Love is a performative research departing from a physical exploration of two voices: nature yodelling, a slow yodel style without lyrics, and the chanting of sports fans. In the focus lies the phenomenon of belonging through sound, collective expression of emotion and vocal techniques that reach/resonate through topographic, architectural and socio-cultural distances. A phenomenon that can be heard in the roar of the mass on the stadium’s terrace, in a “nationalist” cultural practice in the mountains, but also in the streets during protests. Fieldtrips in the city with friends searching for this vocal event build the departure point for performative reflections in the studio.
