Guerret El Anz explores Tunisian expression through a dystopian lens, where traditions, rituals, and collective memory may fade or be distorted. Yet, even in that decay, something resists. Something persists.

The project title translates to The Cold of the Goats. It’s an Amazigh expression referring to a short but extremely harsh cold spell that strikes at the end of February and signals the coming of spring. It is said to be so bitter that even the goat, an animal known for its strength and resilience, can barely survive it.

Guerret El Anz is a choreographic and performative installation.

One of the key questions guiding this work is: In a dystopian world, where do we meet artistic expression? Having said that, we ask our audience to engage with artistic expression in the specificity of a dystopian world and, through that foreshadowing, access it and experience it.
