REMIX is a new dance production by Sharon Mercado Nogales, conceived as a performative and choreographic experience that engages with the Aymara concept of Takipayanaku (“it is made together / between both”), exploring relationships of coexistence through water as a conductor of memory and emotion. Inspired by the folkloric dance Salay—its rhythm, footwork, flirtation, and Andean cultural connection—the work approaches remixing as a practice of transformation, immersing the audience into re-significations of water that expose contrasts between clarity and darkness; movement and stagnation.

REMIX platforms collective practices and forms of celebration that sustain dialogues with entities such as water, mountains, birds, frogs, sun—revealing the impact that these relationships have on how our feelings can flow, accumulate, and release through movement. In a speculative present-future where love is narrated through bravery and preservation, vulnerability emerges from faceless bodies, as traditions are treated not as static heritage but as living practices to be confronted and recreated, proposing dance as an intimate language to speak with—and about—water.
