Sirene

Sara Vilardo - Sirene 16:9

The work in progress Sirene aims to explore the concept of nostos or 'homecoming journey' from a contemporary perspective, having as a starting point the theme of love and the sacrifices that one makes for it, based on the question: 'Would you move country for love?'

Sara Vilardo works on developing a unique approach towards audience participation, creating a space that allows for a dynamic interchange between performer and audience, and where the audience becomes an active participant in the creation of the performance.

Working during the residency on the creation of an interactive and immersive experience, Sara wants to invite the audience to reflect on their own choices and life paths, and how they would navigate the distractions and temptations that come their way.

With multiple international collaborations behind her, Sara is excited to embark on this new artistic journey together with Matthias Velle, bringing their respective backgrounds and perspectives to the table, and exploring new ways to engage and captivate audiences.
