Whatever

Drained of warmth, Nikima Jagudajev is interested in ‘the house that is not a home’ as a site of isolation and encounter between people that are made to feel like strangers: where belonging is not given, where drug use is compensatory. With the house that is temporary, abandoned, hostile, unsafe, and un-cosy as a starting point, this work spends time with holes, voids, and a sense of lack that is part of the migrant’s milieu.
