De aangegrepenen
Is polyphony an answer to the demand for a more inclusive theatre landscape? In De aangegrepenen, theatre maker Mira Bryssinck sinks her teeth into the theme of melancholy. Depression and emotion have existed throughout time, but nowadays rationality predominates and melancholy gets little attention. Pills are swallowed en masse in order not to fall prey to burnout or depression. If we gave melancholy back its right to exist in society and in ourselves, would that change anything? By speaking to people who each offer a very individual perspective on the subject, Mira Bryssinck hopes to unravel the mystery of melancholy through a polyphonic answer.
