Movement and voice intertwine with the experience of motherhood

Jimena Pérez Salerno - What has been stored 16:9

Movement and voice intertwine with experiences of motherhood. Through an intuitive process, Jimena Perez Salerno explores choreographic scores that reflect on time as a plural experience, blending personal, ancestral, and collective memories. These layers shape the wisdom and sensations that emerge from the body, offering a somatic sound exploration.

Beginning with a song learned during her pregnancy, Jimena unearths its layers, creating a fabric woven from the lives that precede and follow her. The before, during, and after intertwine, exploring the resonance of voice and the materiality of the present moment. Inviting the audience into this space of movement, Jimena creates an opportunity to collectively explore what it means to bring the inside out through simple, shared gestures.
