Work in Progress: From the Childhood Room…: The Playground
A scenography residency in collaboration with Decoratelier
When we played hide-and-seek, I always wanted to be found…
As a child, I simply played by the rules. Returning to these games as an adult, the same rules begin to feel different. A wonderland emerges in between temporary fantasy and everyday reality. During this residency, I am researching spatial situations as thresholds: places where the audiences enter, cross, hesitate and explore. I use the rules of childhood games as a dramaturgical language, shaping movement, attention, and the relations between bodies, objects and space.
Could you invite me into your childhood room next time?
I would like to meet the first toy you remember.
What was their name?
Are they still with you?
