Bio

Anastasia Guevel is a choreographer, dancer and visual artist. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Toulouse, she continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in ISAC. She graduated from a Master of Art in Public Space and from the Higher Institute of Arts and Choreography. She is artist member of En Archipel ASBL Artistic Cooperative. Between dance and philosophy, her practice questions the place of the body in the learning process and in the production of knowledge.

This postulate of the "body that knows" led her to develop somatic practices inspired by fasciatherapy, magnetism, meditation, yoga and hypnosis. These different practices are shared during Headless trainings.

In 2016, she launched the 2.leuz project, an annual ritual in discussion with "The Primer of Gilles Deleuze". After A as Animal, B as drink, C as culture and D as desires, 2020 falls to E as childhood. The artistic response slated for December 2020 will take the form of a livestream performance on the Twitch streaming platform.

At the same time, her current research aims to develop a tactile choreographic method facilitating the learning of a foreign language. She is also a playwright on Sonia Czernichowski's 𝑀𝑎𝑦𝑓𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑠-𝑠ℎ𝑎𝑑𝑓𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑠 project and performs in the play My Dear, by Bruno Marin. Finally, she is working on the creation of the choreographic project SLIME supported by Charleroi danse, Studio Thor, and workspacebrussels. SLIME explores the possibilities of using fasciatherapist touch on everyday technological objects.
