GRAND REPOS

In a play between reality and plausibility, GRAND REPOS explores the coming-of-age genre through a fragmented monologue. A character revisits the landscapes of their adolescence, navigating themes such as solitude, shame, perversion, and desire.

The piece investigates the making of gender and sexuality in relation to the invisible forms of violence tied to class consciousness. Structured like a contemporary tale, the solo reclaims the literary figure of the young girl as a tool for subversion and representational rewriting. By blending pop culture, personal storytelling, and fiction, the piece creates points of friction that seek to shift and destabilise dominant narratives.

GRAND REPOS pays tribute to metamorphosis and solitude, while giving space to the images of the past that haunt and shape our identities. The solo ultimately asks: what happens to the stories we tell ourselves?
