Grand Repos
Blurring the lines between reality and plausibility, Grand Repos explores the coming-of-age genre through a fragmented monologue. The piece draws the audience into the mind of an adolescent girl and accompanies her on a journey towards an obsession and a quest for control over her body, touching on themes such as loneliness, shame and the emergence of desire.
The solo is structured as a contemporary tale, in which the literary figure of the young girl becomes a tool for subverting and rewriting representations. Grand Repos pays homage to the fantasies and stories we tell ourselves, and gives space to the images of the past that haunt and shape our identities.
