An immortal superhero moves in stop-motion to a fixed beat, caught in an endless cycle of attacking, defending, wiping off sweat, and reloading. Seemingly effortlessly, she continues to build her imagined super-bodies and super-narratives. But gradually, small cracks begin to appear in her grand gestures. Can this hero change the world? Or is she herself trapped in a system with no way out?
In this solo, Mooni Van Tichel raises questions about violence, power, glory, pain, and vulnerability. Who has the right to defend themselves? Who can be violent without repercussions? And what kinds of violence are made (in)visible?
The solo is a reinterpretation of Mooni Van Tichel's group piece STILL / ALIVE, which premiered in June 2024 at BUDA.
