End of Residency Sharing: She Spells Sea Shells on the Shea Sore, with Andrea Rodrigo
She Spells Sea Shells on the Shea Sore is an ongoing choreographic research by Júlia Rúbies Subirós exploring the feminised voice in Western culture through dance and vocal performance. Moving through figures such as Echo, Cassandra, the siren, Medusa, and Ophelia, the work examines how women’s voices have historically been shaped, silenced, and pathologized. Rather than portraying fixed characters, these figures emerge as shifting presences through movement, breath, speech, and song. The work seeks to fracture inherited narratives and uncover their disruptive potential.
** This public sharing marks the end of a research phase and the transition towards production, offering a glimpse into a work still in formation. **
