Fully Automated Luxury Dancing

Three freelance dancers are invited to give the best of themselves, here and now, without preparation, through dance instructions that they receive live through their headphones. Fully Automated Luxury Dancing meticulously analyses the control systems that keep dancers' bodies in their grip, both on and off stage. What does it mean to be a freelancer in the art world today? How far do you have to go as a dancer to survive? And might dance one day be replaced by AI?

Dan Mussett is a dancer and choreographer. He graduated from the Antwerp Conservatory in 2017 and subsequently created dddddddddduettttttttttttttt (2019) with Laurent Delom, and THE DATING PROJECT (2022). The impact of technology on body and mind is a source of inspiration in his work. He worked as a dancer with Jan Martens and Ayelen Parolin, and initiated Murmur, a reading and discussion group for dancers and dance workers in Antwerp.
