Idle Hours

One thing has ended. There are a few hours in between. The next hasn’t begun. Dessert is about to be served, and it’s too early to sleep. There’s nothing to do—only time, stretching out ahead. We have free time, drinks with friends, lingering. The night is open. So, what if we played a game? Started a story? Sang a song? Shared a conversation?

Come and spend those idle hours with us. “Idle” can mean pointless, lazy, without purpose or effect. It can also mean disconnected, frivolous, foolish, petty, or vain. Basically: time spent. Battery-saving mode. The evening is a programme of desserts, performance acts, music and games – with prizes! Think of it like your nephew’s performance at the family gathering—unexpected, full of charm, maybe a bit awkward. Come chill, think, watch, sit with it.

PICAR will gather for four days at the Kaaistudios—and a little longer—to piece together a drifting programme of practices, desires, and the questions that come with making and friendship. This one-night-only performance is a fleeting moment. Just enough to warm up the future, played in the hands of the present.

The evening unfolds in four episodes: sobremesa (after dinner), a pool night, Middle Ages, and an office day.
